No More PTCL Discount on Broadband Student Package

  Discount on the the most famous PTCL broadband package is over now and will be charged as a normal Broadband package and its charges have been taken at par with ordinary broad band DSL packages. The news haven’t been shown on media or in newspaper but if you see the bill of previous month one can see in right down bottom of the bill a note is written which states that “with effect from 1st November 2013, 1 Mbps student package charge will be Rs. 1250/month and 2Mbps package will be charged as Rs.1424/month.” This really will be irritating for students who were enjoying the 1 Mbps package with unlimited downloading for only Rs. 1000/month.
          It haven’t been announced officially but there are new in market that student package will soon be over and instead of that new packages will be introduced in which one the package is Broad Band economy package in which Rs. 499 are charged for connection of 1 Mbps and with a limited downloading of 1 GB. PTCL is also looking forward to introduce new technologies in addition to broadband services. Pakistan is already lagging behind in technology from many countries a big example of which is 3G, the technology has been introduce long before in many countries and nations are enjoying the advantages of 3G technology further 4G technology has already been introduced in many countries and we still haven’t implemented 3G.
       In similar way PTCL so is incapable to provide high speed internet to its users . The maximum limit of speed available on PTCL network is 8 Mbps. Lets hope that PTCL comes up with more user friendly packages ,more advance technology and high speed connections. By now its a unpleasent surprise for student package users that they wont enjoy discount on package from the month of October.

پی ٹی سی ایل کے مقابلے میں لنک ڈاٹ نیٹ نے بھی ایسی ہی ایک ڈسکاؤنٹ آفر پیش کی، لیکن چونکہ اسکی سروسز کا دائرہ کار کافی محدود تھا اس لیے پی ٹی سی ایل نے کچھ ہی عرصہ میں پاکستان بھر سے ہزاروں طلباء کو اپنے براڈ بینڈ انٹرنیٹ کی جانب راغب کر لیا۔

2009 میں پی ٹی سی ایل نے تمام پیکجز کی سپیڈ دوگنا کر دی اور کم سے کم 1mbps کو معیار بنایا گیا۔ تاہم اسکے بعد پی ٹی سی ایل نے سٹوڈنٹ پیکج صارفین سے سوتیلوں جیسا سلوک شروع کر دیا اور نہ صرف انہیں کسی بھی قسم کی ڈبل سپیڈ آفر سے دور رکھا بلکہ ڈسکاؤنٹ میں بھی کمی کرتے رہے۔ سٹوڈنٹ پیکج صارفین نہ تو سمارٹ ٹی وی حاصل کرسکتے ہیں اور نہ ہی انہیں 2mbps سے زیادہ رفتار فراہم کی جارہی ہے۔

حال ہی میں پی ٹی سی ایل کی جانب سے اعلان کیا گیا ہے کہ ماہ نومبر سے اب 1mbps سٹوڈنٹ پیکج کے ماہانہ چارجز 1250 روپے ہونگے جو کہ عام پیکج جتنے ہیں۔ یعنی اب ڈسکاؤنٹ کو بالکل ختم کر دیا گیا ہے تاہم پی ٹی سی ایل اسے پھر بھی ’سٹوڈنٹ پیکج‘ کہنے پر مصرہے۔

لہذا وہ تمام دوست جو یہ پیکج استعمال کر رہے ہیں یا تو وہ کسی اور کمپنی کا رخ کریں یا پھر پی ٹی سی ایل کے اکانومی پیکج پر منتقل ہوجائیں۔ جس پر 10 گیگا بائیٹ کی حد ہے لیکن اسکی قیمت 499 روپے ہے۔
